The guitar is probably the most influential instrument in pop music. Just think of the opening riff of ‘Satisfaction', the intro of 'Sweet Home Alabama' or the unmistakable rhythm guitar in a song like ‘Get Lucky’.
Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, B.B. King etc.: all guitarists who have more than earned their spurs, but with guitarists like John Mayer and Ed Sheeran, a whole new generation of guitarists is coming up who continue to build on the rich guitar tradition.
Pop, rock, funk, soul, r&b, bebop, mainstream jazz, blues, folk, latin, … or whatever you prefer; At Tune Up Muziekpunt we only employ guitarists who master all modern styles and can convey them. No months of fumbling with difficult grips, but playing a song in the first few lessons is the goal. From songs that appeal to the student, we then work on a solid technique, knowledge of the instrument, rhythmic development and ear training.
For the more advanced students, more attention will also be paid to improvisation, sound, arranging, songwriting and recording.
